These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of RentPaperwork at rentpaperwork.com (the "Service"), run by an individual developer ("we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.
RentPaperwork provides free tools for creating rent paperwork: rent receipts, rent ledgers, and letters such as rent increase notices, proof of rent payment letters and landlord reference letters. You fill in the details and download the result. No account is required.
The templates, the wording they produce and the explanations on this site are general information. They are not legal advice and are not a substitute for a lawyer or your local housing agency.
Landlord-tenant law differs between states and cities and changes over time. Rules about notice periods, limits on rent increases, required wording, delivery of notices and when a receipt must be given may apply to you. You are responsible for checking that any document you create meets the requirements where the rental is located before you rely on it or send it.
You decide what goes into each document, and you are responsible for making sure it is true and accurate. We do not review, verify or store the documents you create.
You agree to use the Service only to document real tenancies and real payments. You must not use it to:
Creating or using a false rent document can be a crime. We may cooperate with lawful requests from authorities.
The site, its design and its template wording belong to us. You may use the documents you create for your own rentals, including printing, signing and sharing them. You may not copy the site or resell the templates as your own product.
The Service is provided free of charge and we may change, suspend or stop any part of it at any time. If paid features are added in the future, they will be clearly described and these Terms will be updated before they apply.
The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the templates are suitable for your situation or meet the legal requirements where you are. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from a document you created with the Service, including a notice that turns out to be invalid or a dispute between a landlord and a tenant.
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from documents you create with the Service or from how you use them.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the place where the operator of the Service resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
